What is special about S-acetyl-glutathione?

S-acetyl-glutathione is the first stable form of glutathione, meaning it resists stomach acid and thus reaches the cells.

Why is this important?

Normally, glutathione, a sulfur-containing tripeptide, is produced by the body itself from the amino acids glutamic acid, glycine, and cysteine.
