🌿 What distinguishes Demeter quality

Demeter is based on biodynamic agriculture, a cultivation method that understands agriculture as a living organism. The goal is not just "organic", but a closed, healthy circulatory system of soil, plants, animals, and people.

Key features:

  • Whole-farm conversion: A farm must operate entirely biodynamically, not just individual areas.

  • Living circular economy: Compost, crop rotation, and preparations made from herbs and minerals strengthen soil and plants.

  • Animal welfare-friendly husbandry: Animals retain their horns, have plenty of outdoor access, and are fed predominantly with feed grown on the farm.

  • Strict processing: Only very few additives are permitted (21 instead of 53 for EU organic).

  • High Demeter content: Products must contain at least 95% organic and 90% Demeter ingredients.
