Omega-3 fatty acids are an important component of a healthy diet. Unfortunately, not everyone has an optimal intake of these long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids. This applies to the whole family. A diet low in fish can contribute to an insufficient intake of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, among other things.

Important representatives of the omega-3 fatty acids are docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), which the body cannot produce itself without precursors.
